Sat for the Japanese placement test today.

As expected, I can't write a lick of Japanese. Should have known this placement test is for students who have experience with the language.

Reading test. Tick which of the sentences that you fully understand.
42 for me and the teacher tried to place me in 3rd year Japanese.

Obviously, if I take 3rd year Japanese, writing will kill me. So 2nd year Jpn.
But I'm having doubts about taking Japanese as my elective and on top of that, I need to overload hopefully this year.
I missed one subject last semester. It was foolish of me when I thought I used up all  my study credits so I don't need to take 1 more subject.

Never had I play an RPG with characters throwing philosophies at you. I like the way they incorporated it into the story without feeling they just tacked it on or out of place. I do notice the relationship between Polka and her mother is a parallel to the history shown at the end of Chapter 1.

And so not expecting to see Lelouch in this game. Arrgh Why the characters he voiced clashes with my image? Rin, in my mind sounds like DSS Djehuty or Trusty Bell Waltz but then, ARGH. That's what happens when the character starts out without voiceovers and then suddenly pops in their voice.

Mamiko Noto, how did you disguise your signature voice? I completely missed her voice in the trailers and until the later parts of the game. It's only some lines she uses her Mamiko-ish voice which rings a bell.

The terms for the world mechanics sounds very Japanese. How should they localise these:
逢魔(Ouma) Pathos Demons?
刻音(Kokuin) Sound Carve

Still, the revelations from the end of 5th movement onwards are messing with my head!

11 hours into Sigma Harmonics, 3 chapters(or movements in the game) finished. What a nice way to unwind after a programming assignment. So far, I really love the music a lot. Piano and strings create a good atmosphere for a heavy mystery game. Considering Masashi Hamauzu is the same music composer for Odin Sphere and FF12, I did enjoy OS music although I never finish it.

Comparing this to Phoenix Wright series, SiguHaru wins by far the most difficult mystery game. It's so hard to get rank S for reasoning without referring to the wiki. i.e the perfect reasoning. The best I can get is A...See how much time I spent

The developers did a good job on the reasoning system. There's no such thing as the real villain. You choose your villain through your reasoning. If your reasoning is not right but off, the system still proceeds, explaining what were the course of events happened based it. Good reasoning leads to easier boss, less minions and more exp pts. Bad reasoning leads to harder boss, more minions and less exp pts.

YU sang not too bad. No off keys that I could hear. He's pretty good with the follow-up/connecting with the next song. At times, I wish he put more emotion in his voice so that he doesn't sound too flat. Another thing I want to point out is he should try singing within his vocal range and not trying to mimic the original singer too much. He can't hit high notes during Sorairo Days.

Difficulty?
Considering you get to control the whole party, it feels a lot easier compared to P3.

Battle System:
Pretty much the same but they changed the condition for one more turn. You get one more turn regardless of any target miss. Must have at least one target hit.

No more turn order. You can only see who's next.

Hama/Mudo spells work 100% if target has weakness. Normal resistance is based on luck I guess.

No analyse for enemy weakness. Enemy info gets recorded with each attack testing.

Ally support is great!

Buff/debuff makes a lot of difference especially when playing in Expert mode.

Guard works as reducing damage and covering weakness. Very useful almost all the time but once you guard one attack, you're receiving normal damage for the next attack. i.e Guard doesn't work for the whole turn. Only for 1 attack

Gameover count:
Story Bosses: 6
Normal enemies: more than 10(I lost count)
Was playing on expert mode.

Before P4, I know nothing about Izanagi or Izanami. From Betta Flash's Agata, the song pretty much sums up the whole legend. Though I hardly hear this sort of music. Ask me for the lyrics if anyone wants.
